New coach rejigs Black Caps batting order

The new national cricket coach coach Andy Moles has run his first practice session, and already had an impact on the side to meet the West Indies in the first test of his reign, starting on Thursday in Dunedin.

Moles has reshuffled the batting order, swapping Jesse Ryder and Daniel Flynn.

He says Flynn will bat at number three because he has the skills to see off the new ball, and he believes Jesse Ryder, being such a destructive player, will benefit from batting later in the innings.

Meanwhile Mark Gillespie says he's looking forward to the spearhead's role in the Black Caps pace attack, a role he's relished with Wellington.

The team had to train indoors yesterday.
