Phoenix keeper injured, search for new keeper from overseas

11:27 am on 9 December 2008

The Wellington Phoenix are looking outside New Zealand to find a short-term replacement for injured goalie Mark Paston.

Paston suffered badly bruised ribs after colliding with a teammate during Friday's 6-1 loss to Adelaide United at Hindmarsh Stadium and will likely be sidelined for the next four games.

Coach Ricki Herbert says regulations governing the New Zealand domestic competition mean the Phoenix have to search offshore for a temporary replacement.

He says the Phoenix have put the Adelaide result behind them and are focusing on Saturday

night's must-win home match against Perth.
