Vettori confident in Flynn's rise

The New Zealand cricket captain Dan Vettori says the promotion of Daniel Flynn from six in the batting to number three has come earlier than they wanted but believes his technique will hold him in good stead.

His promotion doesn't come on the back of strong performances but rather on the poor form of others - for in his 12 test innings so far he's yet to reach 50.

Flynn has however shown the ability to bat time and is values his wicket - as shown by losing his front two teeth when batting against England earlier in the year while Vettori confirmed Jesse Ryder will drop to five.

Vettori confirmed Brendon McCullum will drop back down to seven rather than batting at five.
