Taipans coach says it'll be tough to take pay cut

The Cairns Taipans coach Alan Black says it will be tough for his players to accept a massive pay cut in order to keep the club alive.

The ANBL club has been placed into administration and Basketball Australia say it will help the side play out the season if the players and coach take a pay cut of up to 50 per cent.

They have until today to decide.

Black says he and his players are in a difficult position.

He says each individual has to work out from their own financial perspective what they can afford to do.

Black says they're a team that's got a lot of young families and it may be that some decide to go home to their parents or whatever you do when people are made redundant.

He says his personal feeling is that he would like to keep it going and like to stay involved.
