Auckland hot but happy after win in Vanuatu

Auckland City have scored a vital 2-0 away win over Port Vila in Vanuatu in the Oceania Champions football league.

Battling 35 degree heat, they were helped early on when the home side scored an own goal just 10 minutes into the match.

Auckland's now second behind Waitakere on goal difference in the race for a spot in the O-League final next year.

Both sides have two games left. Auckland City host Port Vila at home mid February and travel to Vanuatu in early March, before squaring off in a likely competition decider.

Fijian Champions Ba moved top equal with Koloale FC in Group B of the O-League after coming back from a goal down to clinch a 2-1 win over Hekari Souths United FC at Port Moresby Rugby League Stadium.
