Canterbury's task looking difficult in State Championship

Northern Districts lead Canterbury by 210 runs with eight wickets in hand after three days of their domestic cricket championship match in Hamilton.

After scoring 430 in their first innings, Northern Districts bowled Canterbury out for 265 and are 45 for the loss of two wickets at stumps.

At Eden Park, Auckland finished day two 130 runs behind Otago's first innings total of 418. Auckland are 288 for two.

Wellington trail Central Districts by 262 runs with five wickets in hand after day three at the Basin Reserve. The Stags made 523, while the hosts are 261 for five.
