The New Zealand Football chief executive says it's fantastic SPARC has recognised women's football is a serious sport.
Michael Glading says encouraging performances at the 2007 World Cup, Beijing Olympics and the under-17 and under-20 World Cups show New Zealand can become a top 10 nation in women's football.
Glading says the funding will allow women's football to plan long term, a luxury they've never had before.
