The Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has escaped disciplinary action over an alleged "stamping" in their Champions League football match earlier this month against AaB Aalborg.
Rooney faced a three-match ban after the incident at Old Trafford last week when United drew 2-all with the Danish team Aalborg, but a UEFA spokesman says after investigating the incident they decided there was no case to answer.
