The Tasman Rugby Union chief executive Peter Barr says he's hopeful the union can come up with the quarter of a million dollars it needs by tomorrow to stay in the Air New Zeland Cup.

Peter Barr says infighting between the Nelson Bays and Marlborough Unions has been the main cause of Tasman's financial woes.

Burt he says they have a couple of irons in the fire and hope to be goping back to the New Zealand Rugby union tomorrow night to say they will remain in top flight rugby.

Barr says Nelson Bays and Marlborough have mended their broken relationship and both unions are confident about Tasman's future.
