The Canterbury batsman and Peter Fulton and Auckland pace bowler Chris Martin are to join the New zealand crickleters in Napier as injury cover for Ross Taylor and James Franklin,.
Franklin has severe bruising to his ribs after being struck whilebatting during the drawn first test in Dunedin.
Taylor dislocated the ring finger of his right hand while fielding and also chipped the knuckle bone at the same time.
Both Franklin and Taylor are expected to be fit thogh which will see both Martin and Fulton released.
Jacob Oram is still recovering from a calf injury and is not available for selection.
