The International Cricket Council's chief executive Haroon Lorgat has ordered Test match referees and umpires to come down hard on slow over-rates and verbal abuse.
Lorgat says he's written to all match referees and umpires on the elite panel asking them to be "assertive and proactive" in dealing with the problem areas.
He's also stressed the key role of captains in ensuring the game is played in the correct spirit and at the right pace.
The South African wants to see a continuation of the "feel-good factor" he saw first hand in Chennai where India beat England by six wickets in the first Test on Monday.
But with what could be a fiery series between Australia and South Africa about to get underway, Lorgat wants similar standards of sportsmanship maintained around the world.
