He's one of the hottest shooters in the League but the Breakers guard Kirk Penney is more interested in how his team is doing in the Australian National Basketball League.
Earlier this week Penney won his second consecutive ANBL player of the month award.... in seven games last month he averaged just under 21 points, shooting 42 percent from both the field and from three-point range.
He's an early favourite to take out the Andrew Gaze Trophy for the NBL's Most Valuable Player at the end of the season.
But Penney says he's out to win a championship, and is a bit taken aback when he wins an MVP award because sho many other players contribute the success of the main shooters,..
The Breakers go into tonight's home match against the Sydney Spirit second on the ANBL ladder with 13 wins and four losses.
