The New Zealand tennis number one Rubin Statham has been granted a main draw wildcard into January's Heineken Open in Auckland.
The 21-year-old from Auckland started 2008 ranked over 550 in the world and has moved up over a hundred places to a career-high of 414.
His best result was at the Baton Rouge Challenger tournament in the United States where he beat two top-250 ranked opponents on the way to the semis before losing to second seed and top-100 player, Bobby Reynolds.
