Good wicket expected at McLean Park

6:06 am on 19 December 2008

The McLean Park wicket is expected to be a good one and one that you're likely to bat on first if you win the toss for today's second cricket test between New Zealand and the West Indies.

The Central Districts captain Matthew Sinclair has called it a belter, but Black Caps skipper Daniel Vettori thinks the pitch is often misrepresented.... it's not as bouncy as people say and in all the games he's played there its been a good flat wicket.

Vettori says he expects offspinner Jeetan Patel to play also so one of the pace bowlers will be 12th man.

Batsman Ross Taylor and all rounder James Franklin have been passed fit to play so either Kyle Mills or Mark Gillespie is likely to carry the drinks.

Play starts at noon today with the weather forecast for fine weather.
