Evers-Swindell twins missing structure of competitive rowing

Double Olympic rowing champions Caroline and Georgina Evers-Swindell say they're looking forward to their first summer holiday in 15 years after retiring from the sport in October.

The pair were yesterday awarded the Lonsdale Cup by the New Zealand Olympic Committee after an outstanding campaign at Beijing 2008 which saw them join a prestigious group of only six New Zealand athletes who have successfully defended an Olympic crown.

Georgina Evers-Swindell says the pair are honoured to receive the award but they're both still getting used to a lack of structure and routine now they're not rowing anymore.

Georgina says the twins are looking forward to spending a hot christmas and New Year at home in the Hawkes Bay.
