India's former cricket captain, Anil Kumble has been nominated to the athletes' committee of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
The leg spinner retired last month as the third highest test wickettaker with 619 wickets.
Kumble's term will start on January 1.
One-third of the panel members, who play an advisory role in policy and priority development of the agency, are replaced on a rotational basis annually.
