Warriors face former coach first up

The Warriors rugby league side will face a former coach in next year's season opening game of the NRL.

In releasing full details for the first five rounds of the draw, the NRL has handed the Warriors a clash against the Daniel Anderson coached Parramatta at Mt Smart Stadium on Saturday night , March 14.

Anderson guided the Warriors in 92 games from 2001-2004.

The game is set to provide major individual milestones for captain Steve Price and Kiwi World Cup-winning prop Evarn Tuimavave.

Price is poised to become only the 11th player in history to appear in 300 first-grade games while Tuimavave will become the 13th player to make 100 NRL appearances for the Warriors if he lines up.

In round two the Warriors will face premiers, the Manly Sea Eagles, at Brookvale Oval.
