Auckland's Sacha Jones and Canterbury's Ellen Barry have turned down wildcard entries to the main singles draw of the ASB Tennis Classic.

Jones, who's based in Florida says rather she wants to continue working on her game and finish a six week strength and conditioning regime.

Barry turned down the wildcard offer as she's still recovering from wrist surgery.

Di Hollands who's played for the New Zealand Fed Cup team and and 19-year-old Kairangi Vano Aucklander have been given wildcards to the qualifying tournament.

Michaella Krajieck of the Netherlands, who's been ranked as high as 30th in the world, and is on the comeback trail after a year blighted by injury has also received a qualifying wildcard as has Croatian 17-year-old Petra Matic who's coached by Ana Ivanovic and Anke Huber's former coach.
