Stumps update on NZ-West Indies cricket test

An unbeaten century by skipper Chris Gayle has seen the West Indies through to 278 for seven at stumps on day four of the second cricket testa against New Zealand in Napier.

The tourists have a 214 run lead, with three second innings wickets in hand.

Gayle's unbeaten on 146, his first test century in three and a half years.

Bowling for the Black Caps Jeetan Patel has taken three wickets including that of first innings century maker Shivnarine Chanderpaul, who he dismissed first ball, caught and bowled off a full toss.

James Franklin has picked up two wickets and Daniel Vettori and Ian O'Brien one apiece.
