Snicko okay by Windies coach

The West Indies cricket coach John Dyson doesn't mind if more technology is made available to umpires.

Dyson and New Zealand's captain Dan Vettori have doubts about the effectiveness of the new appeal system trialled during their drawn test series which ended yesterday in Napier.

Vettori says the "referral" system, allowing sides three challenges per innings to umpiring decisions, wasn't used properly, with both sides guilty of 50-50 challenges.

He says there should be one referral for a decision a team is convinced is wrong.

And Dyson says there's nothing wrong with enhancing the third umpire's ability to get it right.

He says if it's felt television's "snickometer" is effective then the third umpires should have access to it.
