The New York Yankees Christmas spending spree has continued, with the club signing the Los Angeles Angels first baseman Mark Teixeira on an eight-year deal worth over $300 million.
Following the whopping deals handed out to CC Sabathia and AJ Burnett, New York has now splashed out nearly $740 million on three players in the offseason.
The lavish spending comes on the heels of a season in which the Yankees failed to make the playoffs for the first time since 1993.
The deal gives New York the four highest-paid players in the game in Alex Rodriguez, Teixeira, CC Sabathia and shortstop Derek Jeter.
