Three-time defending champion Wilds Oats has missed out on breaking its own race record in the Sydney to Hobart yacht race.
The slow sail up the Derwant River saw the race record time of 1 day 18 hours of 40 minutes pass by just under a half an hour ago.
Wild Oats is expected to finish in just over an hour and is well clear of second placed Skandia.
