The opening match of the one-day cricket series between New Zealand and the West Indies in Queenstown has been abandoned because of rain.
The players left the field after 2 hours play and never returned.
After being asked to bat first the West Indies got through to 129 for 5 from 35.4 overs with Ramnaresh Sarwan making 38, Xavier Marshall an unbeaten 29 and Chris Gayle 25.
Tim Southee took 2 wickets for 33 from 7.4 overs while Dan Vettori, Kyle Mills and Mark Gillespie took 1 wicket each.
Game 2 is in Christchurch on Saturday.
