Silver Ferns clobber Jamaica but not all smiles for coach

The New Zealand netball team has thumped Jamaica by 20 goals in Christchurch in the first clash of a two match series as the Silver Ferns Commonwealth Games build-up swings into top gear.

The Ferns outclassed their Jamaican counterparts, winning 58-35, but the victory left several question marks for coach Ruth Aitken.

Finding a partner for star Ferns' shooter Irene van Dyk must still be of concern with a mixed performance from attackers Maria Tutaia and Grace Rasmussen in last night's opening test.

Aitken says she's looking for a dramatic improvement from both players when they head to Napier for Saturday's second test.
