The High Performance Manager of Canoe Racing New Zealand, Wayne Maher says former World Champion and Olympic silver medalist Ben Fouhy is feeling very positive, but they're not expecting too much from him at this weekend's World Championships in Poland.
Fouhy was involved in a much-publicised split with the national coaching program and now he and his coach Grant Restall work independently.
Maher says with the 2012 Olympics in mind, Fouhy is using this regatta to get back into the international scene.
He says they're using this championship to finalise their crews to push towards Olympic qualification next year.
