The New Zealander Warren Gatland is discussing a new contract to take Wales through until the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

The BBC is reporting that he's in discussions over an extension to his current deal which expires after next year's World Cup.

Gatland says he has a few options, one of them is believed to be taking over at the Chiefs, while he could also be considered a contender for the All Blacks job after the World Cup.

If Gatland were to take Wales through to the 2015 tournament, he would become the longest-serving national coach in Welsh rugby history.

He made a huge impression when he took the job, taking on Wales' 2007 World Cup flops and leading them to the 2008 Grand Slam.
