The Wellington Phoenix have extended their impressive unbeaten streak at home to 21 games, beating the Central Coast Mariners 2-nil in their A-league football clash.

The Phoenix attacked the Mariners from the outset with Leo Bertos striking first in the ninth minute after some good build up play from Dylan Macallister, Tim Brown and Manny Muscat.

The Wellingtonian's struck again on the hour on the back of some individual brilliance from star striker Paul Ifill who calmly dribbled past the Central Coast goal keeper to score.

The Phoenix then shut up shop effectively killing off the game, sealing the two points to leave them sixth on the A-league ladder with a game in hand.
