The New Zealand driver Scott Dixon has claimed second place at the Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma, finishing behind IRL championship rival Will Power.
Dixon's Target team also snared their fourth double-podium finish of the season with Dario Franchitti finishing third.
Dixon lined-up sixth on the grid and passed his way into the top-three by lap 24.
He ran in the top three throughout the remainder of the race, challenging eventual winner Will Power for the lead in the closing laps.
Franchitti remains second in the championship with 455 points - just 59 points behind leader Power, while Dixon remains third with 419 points - 95 points off the top spot.
The next race in the series is at Chicagoland Speedway on Sunday.
