Carter targets end of year tour for return to All Blacks

The All Blacks first five Dan Carter says he hopes to miss just one international rugby game following surgery on his ankle.

Carter aims to be back in the side for the end of year tour and is undergoing clean-up work on his right ankle after complaining of pain and a loss of movement during this year's Tri-Nations.

The star first five will miss the final All Blacks Tri-Nations match against the Wallabies in Sydney on September the 11th but says he's happy with the timing of the surgery.

Carter says the ankle has been bothering him for some time and has adversely affected his goal-kicking.
