The New Zealand cricketers have missed their chance to play in the final of the tri-series against hosts Sri Lanka on Saturday after being thumped by 105 runs in their virtual semi-final against India in Dambulla.
Batting first opener Virender Sehwag blasted 110 from just 96 balls as India posted 223 all out, before the Indian bowlers skittled the Blackcaps for a paltry 118.
The vice-captain Kyle Mills top scored for the Blackcaps with a fighting 52 from 35 balls but says Sehwag was once again the Blackcaps nemesis.
India and Sri Lanka will fight out the Tri-series final on Saturday night.
