Kimmorley announces NRL retirement

The Bulldogs halfback Brett Kimmorley has announced hs retirement saying this year will be his last in the National Rugby League competition.

From next year he'll take on an assistant coaching role at the Bulldogs under head coach Kevin Moore.

The 33-year-old Kimmorley turned down at least six offers to extend his playing career by one more year.

His final game will be against Manly next weekend.

Kimmorley played for six clubs during his 16 year NRL career and made special mention of Chris Anderson who coached him at Melbourne, Cronulla and with the Kangaroos.

He rates Andrew Johns and Darren Lockyer as the two greatest players he's ever played with.
