Rudisha further lowers own world record

The Kenyan middle distance athlete David Rudisha has broken the world 800 metres record for the second time in a week, setting a new mark of 1min 41.01sec at a meeting in Rieti, Italy.

A week ago today in Berlin, 21 year old Rudisha broke the record set by Wilson Kipketer which had stood for 13 years.

At the same meeting the 100 metres was won by the Jamaican Nesta Carter in an impressive 9.78 seconds.
