Heavy hit on Anasta could end Stewart's season

6:27 am on 30 August 2010

The Sydney Roosters skipper Braith Anasta says he had no idea who or what hit him in the vicious tackle that threatens to bring a premature end to Glenn Stewart's NRL rugby league season.

Stewart was one of two Manly players along with Jamie Lyon placed on report in their 30-14 loss to the Roosters at the Sydney Football Stadium yesterday, after collecting Anasta with an elbow to the head in the 46th minute.

The hit appeared to come after Anasta had passed the ball, though it is debatable whether Stewart had enough time to pull out of the tackle, which could earn the Manly backrower a lengthy suspension.

A dazed Anasta carried on after receiving treatment for several minutes but was still feeling the effects more than half an hour after the fulltime siren.
