With preparations for next year's ICC Cricket World Cup in full flow, Sri Lanka has climbed three places on the one-day Championship table following its successful hosting of the tri-series involving India and New Zealand.

Kumar Sangakkara's team had been in sixth position prior to the series but now sits in third, level on points with India and South Africa.

Sri Lanka is just behind India, which clings on to second place, and just in front of South Africa, which drops to fourth.

New Zealand drops to sixth position from fourth as Australia, at the top, and England, in fifth spot, remain unchanged.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka's Tillakaratne Dilshan has broken into the top five of the Player Rankings for ODI batsmen and India's Virender Sehwag has returned to the top 10 following the final of the tri-nation series.

By not being involved, India's Sachin Tendulkar has lost four places and now sits in 10th position.

Leading Black Caps batsman Ross Taylor has gained four places and moves up to 15th position.

Sri Lankan paceman Lasith Malinga has gained 24 places and is back into the top 20 of the bowler's rankings, which remain headed by New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori.
