The Spanish rider Dani Pedrosa seized the lead on the seventh lap and fended off a fierce challenge to post his third MotoGP win of the season at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in America.

Honda's Pedrosa completed the 28-lap race in 47 minutes and 31.6 seconds while American Ben Spies, who began the race on the pole, finished second in 47 minutes 35.
