Panthers come from behind to beat Bulldogs

Penrith have earned home advantage for the National Rugby League playoffs after a thrilling come-from-behind win over the Canterbury Bulldogs 24-18 last night at ANZ Stadium.

The Panthers were 16-nil down at one stage, and they scored a match-winning try with 60 seconds remaining, after an attempted field goal by Brett Kimmorley at the other end of the ground had been charged down.

Penrith finished the game with 12 men, and coach Matthew Elliott fears his skipper Petero Civoniceva will play no part in the team's finals campaign after being sent off 10 minutes from the end last night for clobbering an opponent with a swinging arm.

The Queensland prop, the first player to be sent off this season, could be banned for up to four games.
