Two more men's seeds have been toppled at the US tennis Open.

In the latest upset the Japanese qualifier Kei Nishikori has beaten the 11 seeded Croatian Marin Cilic in four sets.

Earlier the sixth seed from Russia, Nikolay Davydenko, became the highest ranked player to exit Flushing Meadows when he went out in straight sets to the unseeded but talented Frenchman Richard Gasquet.

In contrast the women's number one, the 20-year-old Dane Caroline Wosniacki, beat the heat with a 6-0 6-0 whitewash in just 47 minutes against the Taiwanese Chang Kai Chen.
