The Gisborne lawn bowler David File has had his ban for exposing himself overturned.
File was handed a 10-year ban for exposing himself in the locker room at an Easter tournament in Gisborne.
File appealed and the Bowls New Zealand Judicial Committee has found that there was insufficient evidence to find that the player exposed himself in any other place than the locker room of the Kahutia Bowling Clubhouse and therefore it was felt the 10-year suspension imposed was totally out of proportion to the seriousness of his misconduct.
File has been handed a fine of $500.
