Caroline Powell's taken the lead in the Burghley Horse Trials in the United Kingdom after a brilliant cross country round aboard her 17-year-old grey Lenamore.
In a top class international field, Powell and her 17 year old mount Lenamore scorched around the cross country in the fastest time of he day and came home clean and 20 seconds under the optimum time.
They had been second after the dressage but with only 3.2 penalties seperating the top three riders, there will be little margin for error in tonight's showjumping.
The veteran Mark Todd showed he had lost none of his magic bringing home Major Milestone home clear, inside the time to move up 18 places.
Todd now lies 11th and well within striking distance of a top 10 finish, with Andrew Nicholson also performing well in 13th and Annabel Wigley 14th.
