The Canterbury Bulldogs have finished their National Rugby League season in a high note, with thrilling 30-24win against the Manly Sea Eagles in Sydney.
A topsy-turvy opening half saw the lead change hands on no fewer than five occasions.
The Manly centre Steve Matai opened the scoring in the eighth minute, before the Bulldogs hit back in the 17th minute with a try to prop Ryan Tandy.
And while it was anyone's game at half-time, early second-half tries from Canterbury's Ben Barba and Josh Morris stretched the Bulldogs' 18-16 halftime advantage to 28-16, stunning the 15-thousand-strong home crowd.
But Manly's Jamie Lyon went over in the 65th minute, to prove they were still in with a chance.
The Sea Eagles were denied a try and golden point in the dying seconds when Luke Patten, in his final game for the Bulldogs, crash-tackled Manly's Michael Robinson in the corner.
The result has put a dent in the Sea Eagles' finals hopes, with co-captain Jason King, centre Steve Matai and Chris Bailey all placed on report.
They'll have to wait for the result of the Dragons-Rabbitohs clash before knowing if theyve made the top eight.
