The New Zealand womens rugby team has won the Rugby World Cup for a fourth time.

The Black Ferns came through a tight final against England at Twickenham Stoop to win 13-10 after leading 7-nil at halftime.

The Black Ferns had to overcome three yellow cards as they continually tested the patience of the referee but their territorial dominance and incredible defence ensured a worthy win.

Winger Carla Hohepa scored the try for New Zealand.
