Black Ferns coach credits success to 'great people'

The world champion New Zealand women's rugby coach says the Black Ferns players deserve the credit for their fourth consecutive world cup title after pipping England 13-10 in the final in London this morning.

The Black Ferns survived three yellow cards during the match, including one spell when they were reduced to just 13, before grinding out the victory with desperate defence.

Where the men's side have buckled at past tournaments the Black Ferns soaked up the pressure and a heavy penalty count to cement their place at the top of women's rugby.

Coach Brian Evans says the Black Ferns are a special group of women.
