Not too much damaged expected at AMI stadium

11:21 am on 6 September 2010

Stake holders in AMI Stadium in Christchurch are confident the sporting venue won't have suffered too much damage following Saturday's earthquake.

No one has been allowed into the stadium, but the venues event manager Peter Maddock says an external view of the facilities hasn't shown any problems.

He says engineers will be making an inspection today and tomorrow and they're hoping to get the all clear either tomorrow afternoon or Wednesday morning.

Maddock says the corporate boxes will have suffered some minor damage, but he's sure there won't be any structural issues with the stands.

The Canterbury rugby team isn't due to play at AMI stadium again until September 25th.
