The defending womens' US Open tennis champion, Kim Clijsters, has won her second consecutive title at Flushing Meadows, with a commanding 6-2 6-1 win over Russia's Vera Zvonereva in the final.

Zvonereva went into the final having not dropped a set at the tournament, but Clijsters proved too strong for the Russian, and was barely tested in her 60-minute win.

It's the Belgian's third US Open title, and Clijsters says that her experience in major finals helped her stay calm and focused on the court.

The world number one Rafael Nadal of Spain, will play Serbia's Novak Djokovic for the men's title tomorrow morning.
