Earlier Otago beat Tasman 13-11 in Nelson with both sides scoring 1 try each.
Canterbury and Southland top the table with 26 points, Auckland and Taranaki have 22, Waikato and Wellington 21, and Counties 19.
In next week's feature matches Waikato play Southland and Taranaki play Canterbury.
