Linas Kleiza assured Lithuania of the bronze medal at the world basketball championships with his 33 points helping his side to a 99-88 win over Serbia in this morning's third-place play-off.

Kleiza, Lithuania's top scorer in the tournament, powered the 2003 European champions with a superb individual performance which featured seven rebounds and four assists on top of his 33 points.

Still reeling from Sunday's dramatic semi-final defeat to hosts Turkey, the Serbians lacked their trademark creativity in offence and half-court pressure when defending.

Lithuania collected a staggering 46 boards against Serbia's 26 to dominate the game and claim their maiden podium finish at the world championships.
