Rain delays US open again

2:24 pm on 14 September 2010

Rafael Nadal's quest to complete a career grand slam by winning his first US Open tennis title has again been delayed by rain, with showers halting the men's final.

The match, already postponed from yesterday because of rain, was halted after one hour and 41 minutes with Nadal leading Serbian third seed Novak Djokovic 1 set to love and 4 all in the second.

Nadal can become the seventh man to complete a career grand slam sweep, joining Roger Federer, Andre Agassi, Roy Emerson, Rod Laver, Don Budge and Fred Perry in having won Wimbledon and the US, French and Australian Open titles.

Rain postponed the men's final from Sunday to Monday for the third year in a row.
