The Warriors winger Manu Vatuvei capped an outstanding NRL rugby league season by being named the 2010 Player of the Year.
In claiming the club's supreme accolade, the 24-year-old Vatuvei became the first back in seven years to win the award and only the fourth in the Warriors' 16 seasons in the Australian competition.
While Vatuvei missed six games through a hamstring injury this season, he was widely regarded by commentators as the NRL's best winger and one of the game's most influential players.
He finished the season with 20 tries from 19 appearances, moved past Jones as the club's all-time record try-scorer with 78 in 113 matches and distinguished himself as the only player among the NRL's leading try-scorers to manage a strike rate of better than a try a game.
Recently re-signed until the end of the 2013 season, Vatuvei won the award from a short list of Lance Hohaia, last year's Player of the Year Micheal Luck, Sam Rapira and Jerome Ropati.
