The England cricket all-rounder Dimitri Mascarenhas has been suspended and fined after pleading guilty to an expletive-laden Twitter outburst attacking the national selector Geoff Miller.

The injured Mascarenhas posted his message on the social networking site after the England squad for the Twenty20 internationals and one-day series against Pakistan was announced last month.

Mascarenhas has been fined a total of $3,200 by the England Cricket Board and his Hampshire county side, and suspended for two weeks at the start of next season.

Earlier this month England's leading batsman Kevin Pietersen was fined for a similar Twitter rant after he was dropped for the first time in his international career.
