North Queensland's rugby league Test halfback Johnathan Thurston has been arrested in Brisbane and charged with public nuisance.
Police say they were called to a corner outside the Treasury Casino after an early morning disturbance.
The 27-year-old Cowboys skipper was one of two men police picked up.
It is understood Cowboys centre Willie Tonga was with them, but was not arrested.
Thurston left the police station this morning and made no comment as he got into a waiting car.
Australia's captain Darren Lockyer says it's not good timing for his Queensland Origin team-mate, who's coming back from an injury and wants to press his claims for a Test jersey in the Four Nations.
Thurston is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court next month.
